Over the three-day four stage race at Tryptique des Monts et Châteaux Team Wiggins really showed what they are made of. Competing against the majority of the best U23 riders in the world, Tom Pidcock opened his seasons account with a stage win, 5th on the first stage, 6th in the TT, 2nd on the final stage culminating in 3rd GC and went on to win the points jersey.
However, Tom wasn’t the only success for Team Wiggins at this race. New Zealander cyclist James Fouche, who joined Team Wiggins in 2018 and has become the team’s breakaway specialist won the mountains jersey over the four-stage race. James also placed 5th in the TT and finished 13th GC. James Fouche has now won the mountains jersey at his last three races, Turkey, Portugal and now Tryptique des Monts et Châteaux race.
Rob Scott finished 7th in the first stage and 11th in the final stage of the race, which resulted in finishing 9th GC. Finally, Michael O’Loughlin finished 14th GC which meant that the team finished up with four of the riders in the top 20 resulting in Team WIGGINS Le Col finishing 2nd in the team’s category.
