I've owned my 5-door Impreza R Sport since it was a year old, and it's just had its 10-year service. In that time, apart from an electrical switch failure, nothing has gone wrong - at all! It's on its original battery and I've only replaced the back half of the original exhaust in the last couple of months - the front is fine. Of course it doesn't have the toys of a modern car, but that's part of the attraction - less to go wrong. It handles well, roadholding in bad weather is exceptional, and I trust it to get me where I want to go. I intend to keep it for as long as it keeps running

I like the Impreza very much apart from one or two niggles. I find the gear shift quite notchy and not as slick as other cars I have had. I would like the accelerator to be a little more sensitive, I find there is too much movement before action. The manual takes a lot of time to read up on instructions, I would have been happier with a UK version only.

Love all the hi spec equipment, the reversing camera, automatic lights and wipers and the entertainment system is fantastic.

The Impreza is my wife's car, she shows dogs and it makes a perfect "dogmobile" because of the 4WD. This 1.6iRC is her 4th Subaru and she's delighted with it. The whole process from trading in the old model to kitting out the new one with a dog guard was handled very professionally. We had had some work done on the old model before deciding to go for a new one and that work was competitively priced and done to fit with our schedule that day. Great service.

It has never let me down in six years of ownership from new. In bad weather it gives me confidence that it will grip the road. When there is ice or snow there are very few cars which make it to the supermarket, except my Subaru and off-road 4x4s. One has to be careful when braking, in those conditions, because no car can defy the laws of physics.
