Discover the engineering, safety and technology highlights that make Impreza a true Subaru.
Permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD) delivers power to all four wheels at all times ensuring enhanced control of Impreza even in wet or icy conditions. The entire drive system, from the Boxer engine to the rear differential, is mounted in a straight, symmetrical line, delivering Impreza’s stability and balance.
The Impreza’s SUBARU Boxer engine has a longitudinally-mounted horizontally-opposed configuration. The pistons are placed 180 degrees apart allowing a lower, flatter engine profile. This gives the powerplant - and therefore the whole car - a lower centre of gravity. This more balanced weight distribution gives the Impreza exceptional handling and poise.
SUBARU’s Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) moves between a span of gear ratios to provide smooth acceleration while keeping the engine at its optimal rev range. Lineartronic preserves momentum that is often lost during gear changes on a manual or traditional automatic transmission, maintaining traction by continuously providing power to the wheels at all times.
SUBARU’s Global Manufacturing Platform (SGP) allows Impreza to benefit from several next-generation design and manufacturing enhancements. The platform creates a chassis with higher rigidity, increased strength, lighter weight, better rolling resistance and responsive steering for an even better driving experience.
EyeSight*1, Subaru’s advanced Driver Assist technology, offers Impreza drivers a second pair of eyes. A high-resolution two camera system detects and interprets the environment, accurately tracking things like vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. EyeSight comprises six safety systems that, where necessary, provide warnings and collision avoidance assistance as events unfold.
Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD) features Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Assist & Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It monitors rear blind spots for danger, makes lane changes safer, and can also warn of the potential for a collision – for instance whilst reversing into a street with passing traffic.
Engaging High Beam Assist (HBA) automatically controls the selection of main or dipped beam at night, ensuring the best visibility without dazzling oncoming traffic.
Impreza’s 5* Euro NCAP rating for safety is the testing agency’s highest award. Declared Euro NCAP's BEST IN CLASS Safest Small Family Car 2017, Impreza achieved the best scores in its segment for Adult Occupant, Child Occupant and Pedestrian Protection and ‘very good’ performance for its Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Support Systems. Subaru was voted Best Manufacturer for Safety Features in the 2019 Driver Power Survey, the UK's number one car ownership survey.
Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ let you connect your smartphone to the car and use popular apps. Voice recognition capabilities allow hands-free use, keeping everybody safe whilst reducing distractions when you’re on the move.
Impreza’s reversing camera helps you reverse and park easily and safely.
LED steering responsive headlights track ahead in to a corner as you turn, moving the Impreza headlight beams left or right as you steer to maximise visibility.
The keyless entry & push button start system makes short work of setting off. A key fob gives you easy keyless entry. Simply grip the door handles to unlock them and start the engine with the push of a button.
